A successful Supply Chain & Logistics Specialist will be responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound logistics, inventory management, customer interaction, and project coordination within a toll manufacturing environment. In this role, customers also function as suppliers of raw materials and components, requiring careful balance and strong relationship management.

This position supports production schedules by ensuring timely availability of materials, accurate inventory levels, and on-time delivery of finished goods. Additionally, this role will involve managing project timelines for onboarding new customers and new products, overseeing shipping and receiving operations, and making data-driven decisions using internal systems.

Essential Functions:

Supply Chain & Customer Coordination

  1. Collaborate with customers to coordinate inbound raw materials and components in support of production schedules.
  2. Communicate proactively with customers regarding material availability, delivery schedules, service levels, and changes to priorities.
  3. Assist customers with capacity planning by clearly communicating PCI timelines, quantities, and constraints.
  4. Expedite or reprioritize shipments as needed to meet production and delivery requirements.

Inventory & Systems Management

  1. Manage inventory levels at the PCI facility, focusing on inventory accuracy, turns, safety stock, and space utilization.
  2. Maintain accurate data for open orders, master data, inventory records, and shipping/receiving documentation.
  3. Utilize PCI systems to support account management, order tracking, reporting, data analysis, and project management activities.

Logistics & Shipping Operations

  1. Oversee inbound and outbound shipping and receiving operations, including freight scheduling, documentation accuracy, and carrier coordination.
  2. Manage all outbound shipments of finished goods, ensuring proper packaging, labeling, documentation, tracking, and on-time delivery.
  3. Maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, carriers, and internal stakeholders to support efficient logistics operations.

Project Management & Continuous Improvement

  1. Lead and support logistics-related projects, including onboarding new customers, new products, and process improvements, ensuring milestones are met on time and within scope.
  2. Develop and maintain tracking tools for shipping performance, inventory, and project timelines to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  3. Maintain and report metrics associated with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) aligned with the Quality Management System (QMS).

Cross-Functional Support

  1. Support corporate initiatives related to sales, pricing, operations planning, customer follow-up for quotes, and new product launches.
Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service, scheduling, purchasing, manufacturing, materials management, expediting, or contract packaging environments.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, logistics operations, and projects effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Dropbox, and similar business systems preferred.
