Role Description

Coalition Technologies is seeking a detail-oriented, reliable, and highly organized Remote Payroll Specialist to support payroll processing, employee compensation, payroll compliance, and accounting operations. This role is ideal for someone with payroll experience, strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and accuracy.

As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for:

• Preparing and processing bi-weekly payroll for approximately 250+ employees and contractors.
• Working closely with the Accounting Team to support payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll reconciliations, PTO records, wage garnishments, and payroll-related inquiries.

Qualifications

• 2 to 3 years of payroll experience.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Superior attention to detail while meeting tight deadlines.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
• Ability to occasionally manage conflicting priorities and demands in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to perform well under pressure.
• Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
• Ability to adjust to changing priorities and workloads.
• Willingness to be cross-trained and assist as needed.
• Ability to learn and apply job-specific knowledge and technology skills.
• Friendly, professional, and positive approach to internal and external customer service.

Requirements

• Experience with QuickBooks (preferred but not required).
• Working knowledge of Google Workspace, including Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Sheets (preferred but not required).
• Experience supporting payroll reconciliations (preferred but not required).
• Experience with Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable data entry (preferred but not required).
• Experience handling payroll questions related to W-2s, deductions, reimbursements, bonuses, taxation, PTO, or wage garnishments (preferred but not required).

Compensation

For candidates located in California, New York, Washington, and Colorado, the starting base pay for this position ranges from $18 to $27 per hour. Compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills test performance, geographic location, and seniority of the position offered. For candidates outside of California, New York, Washington, and Colorado, compensation may fall outside the listed range.
