About the Role:

The Armed Security Officer plays a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of people, property, and assets within assigned locations. This position requires vigilant monitoring of premises to prevent unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, and other security breaches. The officer is responsible for responding promptly and effectively to emergencies, including potential threats or incidents requiring the use of force within legal and ethical guidelines. Maintaining a visible presence to deter criminal activity and providing assistance to employees, visitors, and law enforcement is essential. Ultimately, the role ensures a secure environment that supports the smooth operation of the client’s business or facility.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid state-issued armed security officer license or permit as required by local regulations.
• Completion of required firearms training and certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings.
• Physical fitness to perform patrol duties and respond to emergencies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience as an armed security officer or in law enforcement.
• Additional certifications in first aid, CPR, or emergency response.
• Familiarity with security technology and surveillance systems.
• Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas to monitor for suspicious activity or security risks.
• Control access points by verifying credentials and authorizing entry to authorized personnel and visitors.
• Respond immediately to alarms, incidents, or emergencies, following established protocols and reporting procedures.
• Maintain detailed and accurate logs of daily activities, incidents, and observations.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency responders when necessary to manage security situations.
• Enforce company policies and procedures while maintaining professionalism and respect in all interactions.
• Operate security equipment such as surveillance cameras, radios, and alarm systems effectively.
