UNDP Washington 2025 Internships – United States of America Opportunity Number: 1386 Deadline to apply: June 15, 2025 About the Opportunity The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Washington Representation Office (WRO) offers internships for outstanding graduate students interested in global development, public policy, and communications. Interns gain hands‑on experience, attend high‑profile conferences, participate in meetings, and contribute to impactful projects. Interns also benefit from networking with professionals from international organizations, the diplomatic community, and civil society in Washington, DC. Direct exposure to UNDP’s daily operations and global development efforts. Participation in key meetings, Congressional hearings, and policy forums. Mentorship and skill development in communications, public policy, and international relations. Monthly stipend provided (varies by location and hours worked). Opportunities for remote or hybrid arrangements when applicable. Eligibility Criteria Enrollment in a graduate‑level degree program related to communications, development studies, economics, public/business administration, or environmental studies. Commitment of at least three months (minimum of three days or 24 hours per week). Proficiency in written and spoken English. Strong interest in global development and willingness to learn. Respect for the UN Charter and UNDP’s mission. For the Communications & Outreach Intern: excellent writing and social media skills; experience with news releases and content management is preferred. Capitol Hill experience or familiarity with US Congress is a plus for the General Internship.
