Sales Manager Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, and develop a team of automotive sales professionals
  • Coach sales staff on proven sales processes and closing techniques
  • Set sales goals, monitor progress, and lead the team to meet and exceed targets
  • Assist customers in selecting the right vehicle by asking questions and understanding their needs
  • Explain vehicle performance, features, benefits, and available options to prospective customers
  • Present and demonstrate pre-owned vehicles in a professional and knowledgeable manner
  • Help overcome objections, structure deals, and support the sales team throughout the sales process
  • Provide daily leadership, accountability, and motivation to the sales team
  • Assist in closing deals and ensuring outstanding customer experience

Sales Manager Qualifications

  • Previous automotive dealership sales management experience required
  • Strong leadership skills with a passion for training and developing employees
  • High energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude throughout the workday
  • Proven track record of stability and performance
  • Goal-oriented mindset with strong negotiation skills
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and computer skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Clean driving record and valid driver's license required
