Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) is seeking a compassionate and detail‑oriented Radiation Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team in Upstate New York. As a key member of the oncology care team, the Radiation Therapist will work closely with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, dosimetrists, and nursing staff to deliver safe and precise radiation treatments to patients with cancer and other conditions. The Radiation Therapist is responsible for accurately interpreting treatment plans and delivering prescribed radiation doses using linear accelerators and related treatment technologies while adhering to strict safety and quality standards. Daily duties include preparing and positioning patients for treatment, verifying patient identity and treatment parameters, performing imaging for treatment localization, and monitoring patients during and after procedures to ensure comfort and safety. The role also involves maintaining accurate electronic treatment records, assisting with quality assurance checks on equipment, reporting any variances or equipment issues, and following all departmental protocols, radiation safety regulations, and infection prevention practices.
