Join our team and become part of the solution! Shenandoah Community Health is looking for an Office Assistant/Patient Navigator. This position is primarily responsible for navigating all patients in the waiting area, including but not limited to greeting patients, directing them in the appropriate line for check in, schedule and check in Health Express patients and Express Check In's. In times of need to also cover lunches as requested. Role & Responsibilities: Greet clients in a courteous manner. Attend the waiting area ensuring client wait times are minimal Answering clients questions and direct them to the appropriate workstation for continued registration. Complete Express Check In's and Create / Check in Health Express clients for providers in a timely manner. Collect co-pays and process transactions for medical record copying fees as needed. File patient information in an accurate and organized manner; making sure other medical personnel will be able to easily locate documents in the EHR when needed. Ensure confidentiality of all client information in performing his/her duties. Maintain the new client waitlist to ensure accuracy and timely processing of new patient appointments. Resolving day-to-day issues as required, ensuring high quality services. Flexible schedule with evening coverage required. Schedule patient transportation Essential Skills and Education Requirements: Bilingual a plus. Must have a high school diploma or the equivalent with some college course work in a related field preferred. Previous experience in a medical office setting preferred. Previous experience performing reception duties is preferred. Must have excellent data entry and computer skills, including experience with Medical Manager, Athena. Must have strong communication and customer service skills. Prior experience scheduling patients and dealing with medical records is preferred.
