Medical AR Specialist

AR Specialist

Location: Onsite Phoenix AZ 85029

Schedule: MondayFriday Full, Flexible start as early as 7:00am. Some of the team works 9 hours M-TH and a 5 hour day on Friday.

Type: Temp-to-Perm

Pay: $22-23/hr

Onboarding: Background/Drug Screen

Company: A behavioral health and supportive services organization focused on helping individuals with serious mental illness (SMI), substance use disorders, and justice involvement stabilize, recover, and live more independently in the community.

Role Overview

These roles focus on resolving aged AR, submitting corrections or appeals, and managing denial follow-up to ensure claims are processed accurately and timely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work aged AR inventory, prioritizing claims approaching timely filing deadlines.
  • Review claim denials to determine root cause and required next steps.
  • Submit corrected claims, reconsiderations, or full appeals depending on denial type.
  • Prepare write-off requests for valid, unresolvable denials.
  • Work exclusively with insurance AR (no patient billing/collections).
  • Collaborate with internal teams and use CollaborateMD/Kipu (training provided).
Requirements
  • 23 years of healthcare AR experience focused on insurance follow-up.
  • Understanding of common Medicaid denial codes (timely filing, coordination of benefits, clinical, etc.).
  • Experience submitting insurance appeals and corrected claims.
  • Strong investigative and documentation skills.
  • High school diploma or GED (required).

Pay Details: $22.00 to $23.00 per hour
