The Wellness Resource Center provides health promotion and prevention programs and services for undergraduate and graduate/professional students on a large university campus. Situated within Student Health & Well-Being, the WRC works closely with Counseling Center and Student Health Center professionals to provide a wide range of opportunities for students to assess their well-being, develop effective strategies, and think critically, so they can enjoy thriving well-being. Our staff collaborate with campus partners, student organizations and students to develop and implement effective programs and services.
Job Description Summary
The University of Missouri's Wellness Resource Center seeks a motivated and experienced Violence Prevention Health Educator to advance comprehensive, evidence-informed prevention efforts addressing interpersonal violence, sexual violence, and related forms of harm on campus. This position plays a pivotal role in strengthening campus-wide primary prevention initiatives, including bystander intervention programming and violence prevention outreach grounded in public health and socioecological frameworks. This multifaceted position serves as a catalyst for creating a healthier, more informed, and supportive campus environment by promoting all aspects of student well-being and will collaborate closely with campus partners to foster a safer, more informed, and more connected campus community.
A successful candidate will bring specialized knowledge in violence prevention, strong facilitation and program development skills, and a desire to help students succeed.
Essential Functions
Full-time, Flexible scheduling
This position may require evening and weekend hours supporting activities and programs within the department or division. Your core responsibilities will require a total commitment of 40 hours per week, but you will have the freedom to determine your daily start and end times to accommodate your personal needs and preferences, as well as the operational demands of the position. This unique work arrangement allows for a healthy work-life balance while accommodating the specific needs of our students.
Minimum QualificationsA bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications Salary Range: $52,915.20 - $72,000 per year, paid on a monthly basis
