Food & Beverage Director
The Food & Beverage Director is responsible for leading all food and beverage operations at the Williamsport Lumber Yards, a dynamic, community-oriented destination in downtown Williamsport. The primary functions of this role are to drive revenue, manage costs, and deliver a high-quality, welcoming guest experience that reflects the Lumber Yards’ identity as a gathering place for residents and visitors alike.
This position oversees all facets of the food and beverage program, including guest-facing service teams, kitchen operations, vendor coordination, and catering or event-based food and beverage services that support concerts, festivals, markets, and private events. The Food & Beverage Director is supervised and evaluated by the property’s District General Manager.
Compensation: $45,000 - $50,000/Year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead, train, and develop food and beverage staff across all Lumber Yards venues and service areas
Oversee daily food and beverage operations to ensure consistency, efficiency, and exceptional guest experiences
Monitor inventory levels, purchasing, storage, and waste control across all food and beverage outlets
Monitor food and beverage quality, presentation, and service standards
Track sales performance and implement strategies to increase revenue during both regular operations and special events
Generate required operational, sales, and inventory reports
Oversee point-of-sale operations and ensure accurate processing of payments
Inspect kitchen and service equipment for cleanliness, functionality, and safe operation
Inspect food and beverage deliveries for accuracy and compliance with health codes, including temperature and storage requirements
Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal health, safety, and alcohol service regulations
Address and resolve guest feedback, complaints, and suggestions in a professional and timely manner
Collaborate with property management, events, and marketing teams to support Lumber Yards programming and activations
Required Skills and Abilities
Highly detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple operational areas simultaneously
Able to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, event-driven environment
Strong team leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a group setting
Flexible availability to work irregular shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, based on the Lumber Yards’ event and operating schedule
Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age
Education and/or Experience
Minimum of one (1) year of proven leadership experience in high-volume food service, hospitality, or event-driven food and beverage operations
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals in English
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to communicate effectively with guests, staff, vendors, and management
Mathematical Skills
Ability to perform basic math related to food and beverage operations
Ability to accurately make change and reconcile transactions with or without electronic devices
Reasoning Ability
Ability to identify operational challenges, collect relevant data, establish facts, and implement practical solutions
Computer Skills
Working knowledge of Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, etc.)
Experience with food and beverage inventory systems and point-of-sale platforms such as Toast or similar systems
Food Service Manager Certification (or ability to obtain within three (3) months of hire)
Food Handler Certification (within sixty (60) days of employment)

The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor settings consistent with a multi-use destination property. While the role is primarily performed in temperature- and humidity-controlled environments, the employee may be exposed to ambient outdoor weather conditions during events and seasonal operations. The position may also involve exposure to extreme cold (walk-in freezers) and extreme heat (commercial kitchens). Noise levels range from moderate to loud, particularly during peak service times and events.
