Position Summary:
The Utility Driver picks-up and delivers all product used in the delivery of the
Meals on Wheels (MOW) program to clients, oversees the proper storage of product
in the warehouse, stages and delivers orders to various departments and fills
in, on a relief basis, in the delivery of meals to MOW Clients. Additionally,
this position assists the Meals on Wheels management team in maintaining a
clean, orderly and structured warehouse environment.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Safely drive Agency vehicles up to 30 feet in length.
- Pick up and deliver product, in a prompt and orderly fashion, while
maintaining quality control measures as defined by management.
* Assist with loading meals and other food product, along with other items that
are needed for each day’s delivery.
* Assist in the delivery of product to clients when needed due to business
activity and/or shortage of drivers.
* Deliver meal bags and any other items to service recipients per the delivery
route sheet, following all established delivery and client service
procedures.
* Operate in a safe and proficient manner the equipment used within the
warehouse environment such as manual and electric pallet jacks, pallet scales
and other equipment as designated by the program manager.
- Adhere to company policies regarding asset protection and inventory of goods.
- Learn and competently operate the software system within the warehouse.
- Maintain a high degree of safety awareness and practices.
- Assist in the cleaning of Agency vehicles.
- Assist in the cleaning and organization of the warehouse
- Protect all confidential information, company property and electronic data.
- Other related duties as directed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Count proficiently, multi-task between duties and work under time sensitive
deadlines.
- Operate software, specialty and commercial products such as Microsoft Office.
- Possess excellent customer services and communication skills.
- Exercise sound judgment and be able to work autonomously.
- Flexible with changes of direction and task priorities.
- Prioritize work and meet necessary deadlines.
Qualifications:
- High School Education or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year of driving experience with work experience in a
warehouse, delivery or related equivalent experience.
* Must be at least 25 years old with a valid State of Nevada driver’s license
and able to drive routes when necessary. Must also have and maintain current
minimum Nevada state required auto insurance.
* Must be familiar enough with Las Vegas and surrounding areas to ensure
efficient routing and navigation for deliveries.
Physical Requirements
* Job duties are performed in a warehouse that can reach extreme temperatures,
hot or cold. Dirt, dust and debris may be present within the environment.
* Must have ability to drive a vehicle throughout entire shift. Must be able
to get in and out of delivery vehicle repeatedly throughout the day as
necessary.
* Ability to continuously sit and/or stand. Ability to climb stairs as
needed. Walking, bending, and lifting are required when dealing with
merchandise and processing of purchasing and donated goods.
* Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, clients and delivery
personnel.
- Work environment entails outdoors, office, vehicle and meeting environments.
- Ability to effectively communicate with clients, drivers, staff and
volunteers is critical.
* Ability to lift up to 55 lbs., push up to 200 pounds on a pushcart, and enter
walks ins -10 degrees with or without assistance
* Ability to stand / sit for duration of shift, walk frequently, bend, and
reach a height of 6 feet with or without assistance. Employees will be
required to stand, sit, walk, lift, reach, push, pull, grasp and navigate
safely within all environments commonly found within the Food Services
Division
This position is full time and pays $18.00 per hour.
