Ryder is hiring a  CDL A Local Dry Van Driver in Chester, NY . A local truck driving job typically consists of transporting freight within a 200-mile radius, allowing the driver to complete their deliveries and return home the same day. Compensation:

• Hourly Pay: $31.00 Per Hour
  • Driver Positions Pay Weekly 50+ hours per week

Home Time, Route & Schedule:

• Home Daily
• Start times vary
• Monday-Friday no weekends
• Route: NYC, Long Island, Upstate NY, NJ
• HEAVY TOUCH FREIGHT REQUIRED- medical supplies

Equipment:

• Trucks are 36 months or newer
• Dry van, 53'
  • Equipment: Pallet Jack, Stair Walkers, Forklifts
• 24/7 Roadside Maintenance and Company Drivers fuel up the trucks at over 800 Maintenance Facilities Nationwide

Qualifications

• Must have a valid CDL A License
• Minimum 21 years of age
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle
  • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
  • 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
  • 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• TWIC card preferred, but not required– Ryder will reimburse.
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
• Must live within 30 miles of Chester, NY
