The Appraisal Coordinator is primarily responsible for the execution and monitoring of the Bank's commercial real estate appraisal procedures and acting as the primary resource to the commercial lending function in matters pertaining to commercial real estate appraisals. Commercial real estate for this purpose defined as both typical commercial properties as well as single family residential originated through the commercial lending channel.
Complete the appraisal bid process by contacting appraisal firms for time and fee quotes and follow up with an engagement of the selected firm. Track the progress of the appraisal through delivery to the bank until a quality product has been delivered. Function as the primary contact for questions or issues.
Track the receipt and delivery of appraisals through a pipeline report and third-party appraisal coordinators.
Maintain a commercial appraisal log and a data base of appraisals separate from the loan file.
Proactively identify challenges within appraisal orders and take actions to remediate by reviewing file data to ensure appraisals are ordered correctly.
Review third party real estate evaluations.
Work closely with the appraisers and reviewers to ensure timely delivery to the Bank.
Makes recommendations for approved appraisers and keeps approved appraiser list to include appraisers' credentials and qualifications.
Function as a point of contact for the appraiser and reviewer.
Function as a conduit between the appraiser or appraisal coordination firm and the lender to mediate any issues arising during the assignment.
Attend bank sponsored training to enhance and develop knowledge.
Develop and maintain knowledge of Regulatory Guidelines pertaining to appraisals. Keep management abreast of any changes made to the guidelines that require updates to Bank policy.
Submit appraisal and environmental report invoices to the accounting department on a timely basis and reconcile paid and unpaid invoices.
Order and review third party environmental reports.
Provide support as needed to the Credit Administration Department.
