We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in accuracy, organization, and customer service. The Accounting Assistant plays a key role in supporting daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, vendor management, and financial recordkeeping. The successful candidate will be a self‑starter with strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy. Essential Functions Perform Accounts Payable/Receivable transactions, including invoice entry, credit memos, payment processing, and account maintenance. Prepare and process vendor invoices and associated expense reports for payment. Process weekly payroll and prepare payroll-related reports. Reconcile accounting records and verify information for accuracy and completeness. Maintain organized accounting files and supporting documentation. Communicate professionally with vendors, employees, and internal departments regarding accounting-related matters. Assist with month‑end and year‑end accounting activities as assigned. Assist with semi‑annual inventory activities as assigned. Perform other related duties as assigned. Competencies Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational and time‑management skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Experience using accounting and payroll software. Ability to manage confidential information with discretion. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat. Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records and work with a high degree of attention to detail. Preferred Education and Experience Associate degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Business Administration, or a related field. Two (2) or more years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or related financial operations. Experience with accounting and payroll software. Experience in manufacturing, construction, or a similar business environment.
